“Show up for yourself” they said. In that moment, the deathly silence that once muted my faith had broken. That statement, during that particular time, had awakened my identity & exposed the hoax of the enemy. There’s a phrase known as the "Imposter Syndrome" that has rapidly emerged within creative communities, local churches, & our youth. I would define Imposter Syndrome to be fraudulent feelings of inadequacy & incompetence despite evident success. I’ve found that this is one of the main tactics the enemy uses against Creatives. The enemy tries to invade God’s plan for our lives by attacking us with extreme self-doubt & comparison to others. To make it plain, the imposter syndrome stands between you & you following God’s call. Convincing you that God didn’t properly equip you to walk in your calling. This is absolutely FALSE! God has not only equipped you with everything you need but He also finds you worthy of the call (Jude 1:24). God has proven himself to you & if you take a moment to think on it, you will see the evidence of His hand in your life. If you struggle with this, know that it is a phony representation of who you are. You are not trespassing in the area God has called you to & ALL of your accomplishments are legitimate.
Here is a chart to help you combat against the imposter & encourage you with God’s word.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
