Financial freedom…What does that look like to you? How do YOU define wealth? These are questions you should be able to answer as the leader in your home, business owner, and/or as an independent. Once you figure out what you’re reaching for it’s easier for you to come up with a plan BUT first you have to define what you want. In the 2 examples I share below, each receives a double portion but were blessed in different ways. Keep reading to see the types of wealth that are attainable to you.
1. Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours, Isaiah 61:7
God saw their suffering but instead of Him leaving them with their shame & giving them just enough to “get by”, He gave them back double. Our prayers should shift when we read this text because God may wait to take away the shame or the embarrassment but allow us to keep the testimony & add a double portion of blessings for the problems we faced.
I think it’s also important that we point out that their land was blessed! Can you imagine the joy & screams coming from a community of believers that were once broke & pitied but are now free & living in a land that is flourishing because it’s attached to their “covenant contract”.
2. When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?” “Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied. 2 Kings 2:9
This son requested that he’d receive the mantle of his spiritual father, in double, so that he could continue to lead those who were being trained. Continuing a legacy that’s progressive is a blessing! I pray we are able to train those around us with the mantle God has given us. I believe the son asked for double because he knew that the vision was bigger than what he saw in that moment. Are your prayers big enough to cover the generations after you?
The son’s boldness to make such a huge request shows me that his mentality was different. He didn’t think like a “broke” man & his language proved it. He knew what needed to be done so that the Father’s business would continue which formulated boldness, persistence, & knowledge of what he desired.
In Deuteronomy 8:18 God states that He gives us the power to get wealth. Some synonyms for power are ability, competence, authority, strength, & energy. I pray that during this time you receive supernatural power to obtain wealth while laboring. Be specific in your request today, God is able & willing to break the financial curse over your bloodline & make wealth your portion. Pray, establish a well-executed plan, & remember that you may be 1 great idea away from God changing your life forever!
