Experiencing worry, unease, or nervousness, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.
Creatives & Christians face the reality that mistakes will be made in our Christian walk. The act of worrying about the mishaps causes us to lose focus on the promise. The promise is that we are never forsaken by God & that He cares about ALL of our needs.
And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:30-34 NLT
I also once suffered with anxiety & if I can be honest it sometimes revisits depending on the season I’m in. I struggled with wanting to perfect the Christian walk. As if I wanted to prove that I was a “good enough” Christian but being a “A+ Christian” doesn’t set an example of being Christlike it actually shows our lack of identity. The blood of Jesus Christ has validated you & is evidence that everything you face, you are able to overcome. Christ blood was not wasted & His sacrifice has covered your debt. Even if you feel overdrawn spiritually, emotionally, or mentally remember God has covered that bill. Yes, the enemy uses anxiety as a weapon but it won't be prosperous! Studying the word of God, reading faith based self-help books, worshipping, & praying are some ways to combat the spirit of anxiety.
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7
Creatives also struggle with internal battles of unspoken expectations & unsuccessful aspirations. I’ve learned that failed attempts don’t depreciate our value! We have to be comfortable with making mistakes, knowing that our sufferings lead to the building of our character. You see, God allows us to go through certain things to be the example of hope. A hope that is so contagious that the spread of it reminds our sisters & brothers that God is still able. God is able to heal you from depression & anxiety! YOU CAN BECAUSE HE IS!
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:3-5
