Are you a Boss or a Servant? Or Both?
I’ve seen so many people fall victim from lusting after the idea of having a “title” or being a “boss” that we began to frown upon THE CALL of a SERVANT. We, and yes I’m including myself, have oftentimes become so accustomed to the life of entitlement, that chasing the bag & not attaining morals has cost us our integrity & character. Don’t get so caught up in the diamonds, bags, & accolades of people because one day that will all vanish. Eye opener: Only what we do for Christ will last. Ask yourself, why is it that you’re not content with serving. Why do you feel that the socio-norms are the only thing that can make you happy? Really take inventory over your life & be honest about your motives.
Growing up I saw so many people thrive & attain success outside of the people I knew. So I lived a life promising myself that I would create wealth for my family & build a legacy similar to what I saw on social media, film, & magazines. Let’s just say that those past attempts failed because my motives were set on gaining & not serving. Don’t get me wrong just because we’re Christians doesn’t mean we have to live poorly, in fact its the exact opposite. Be reminded of Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I also think about Solomon in 1 Kings 3:1-15, he asked God for wisdom to lead His people & God was so pleased with his request that He granted Solomon with wealth & honor also. So today I admonish you to do a “Prosperity Check”. Make a list of your desires & also make a list of what God desires. Take that list with you in prayer & listen to the voice of God.
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13
