This week's notes are short & sweet.
Here are 4 tips to help out you & your friends. Let's start!
1. Student. Be a continuous student of your relationships. People grow & encounter different seasons in their life. Take the time to learn your friends & be careful not to keep them hostage to old traits or habits. Even though you may have fond memories of what “use to be”, be sure to be present for them now. Invite, accept the growth, & look forward to the evolving of your friendships.
2. Pray constantly! Keep their name before God & their family.
3. Communicate respectfully. Dive into God’s word for guidance especially during disagreements. Learn to discipline your tongue.
4. Impart in their God-given assignment, even if that means offering a listening ear. If you're not sure, then ask them how you may be of help.
Father teach me how to be tenderhearted in the covenant relationships you have given me. I crucify this flesh daily so that I may experience what you have for me with full joy. Teach me how to be a friend & bring reconciliation to the hearts of those I have mishandled, even heal the heart of those I no longer communicate with. I praise you for sending covenant friendships & I thank you for being my BEST FRIEND! In Jesus name, Amen.
"Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel" Proverbs 27:9
